Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be naked?

Nope — your comfort comes first. Most clients wear underwear, a bathing suit, or disposable options. Disposable thongs are available upon request. Minors are required to cover both top and bottom unless a parent/guardian is present for the full appointment.

How long does an appointment take?

Most appointments take 20–30 minutes at the most — setup, consultation, spray time, drying, and cleanup.

Where do you set up?

Anywhere with enough space for a professional spray tan tent — about 6 × 6 ft. space in a bathroom, living room, kitchen, garage, basement, event airbnbs & hotel rooms. I bring everything & clean up.

Can I sleep with it?

Yes, depending on your formula. Wear loose, dark clothing and avoid sweating. Your technician will advise.

Will bronzer transfer?

Some cosmetic bronzer may transfer while developing. Loose, dark clothing and dark sheets are recommended. It washes out of most fabrics.

When should I book before an event?

1–2 days before is ideal. This gives your tan time to fully develop and look its best for photos.

Is it safe for women who are breastfeeding or pregnant

Golden Hour does not provide medical advice — please check with your doctor first. Comfort accommodations can be made, and many clients choose to tan when pregnant or breastfeeding.

Is it okay for sensitive skin?

Our solutions are designed to be gentle and free from many common irritants. Please disclose any allergies or skin concerns before your appointment.

I have dry patches. Can I still get a tan?

Moisturizing in the days before and exfoliating properly beforehand helps create a smoother, more even result. Our products are moisturizing and will not further dry out your skin.

Can I swim with it?

Wait until your tan has fully developed and you've rinsed. Chlorine and salt water can shorten your tan's life.

What if I have a sunburn?

Do not spray tan over active sunburn or peeling skin. Wait until your skin has fully healed.

*A spray tan does not protect your skin from the sun. Always wear SPF. Glow safely.

Do you spray tan men?

Golden Hour primarily serves women. Pop ups & public events, men can tan if wearing briefs.

All appointments are professional, consent-based, and subject to Golden Hour's comfort and safety policies.
